Inspiration

Image
Inspiration   Most of my inspiration comes from moments, places and things. I could be on a walk and see something that captures my attention, and wanting to keep that image forever I'll take a picture of it. Going on a drive at night, taking pictures of the cars and street lights. Taking a trip downtown, getting pictures of the buildings during golden hour. Certain things and places make me want to keep a permanent reminder of that time. I typically just take a picture of anything that looks appealing to me, I even draw my inspiration from music that I've listened to. A song could give me a certain feeling (happy, sad, nostalgic, angry, etc.), and I'll want to convey those feelings into an image.

Guest Speaker - Jocelyn Michel

Name of the speaker:  Jocelyn Michel - Advertising photography How you describe this person? (ie…spontaneous, intuitive, engaging, researched, dark, moody…) I would describe Jocelyn as engaging, laid back, spontaneous and very creative.  Describe a moment in his presentation that stood out for you and explain why? I think the moment, that stood out the most for me, was when he talked about what he wanted to be before he got into photography. Him saying that he originally wanted to be an engineer but deciding he wanted to do photography stood out the most because I cant relate to that. Before deciding that I wanted to do photography (it was just a hobby at first), I was in a different program at Vanier. After realizing the program wasn't for me, I took a gap year to figure everything out. So hearing that his original schooling wasn't photography really stood out to me. What is the genre/discipline that is associated with his style of photography (advertising, documentary, news

My photography music style

Image
Music style I think my photography music styles would be a mixture of a couple different styles, depending on the day. It would be a mixture of R&B, K-pop and neo soul, depending on my mood that day. If I was feeling more upbeat, it would be a K-pop style. If I was in a more calm, relaxed mood it would be R&B and neo soul. Generally I wouldn't tie my photography down to just one music genre or style. Each picture has a different vibe or mood, which means they could also have a different music style as well.

When looking at the image, I feel almost confused, why is there only one car? Why does it look so empty and lonely?

Night Owl

I chose to take my picture later at night when the street lights were just beginning to turn on. I like nights better than days because I can think better at night, I have better ideas, thoughts and generally, I'm more relaxed at night. I find more comfort looking out the window and seeing the moon or the street lights. That's why I chose this picture.
